ZipChat E14: Observability in DevOps

August 24, 2021
11 AM PT | 1 PM CT | 2 PM ET

The increased complexity and criticality of digital service stack architectures have largely rendered legacy monitoring and management software obsolete. As a result, enterprises have begun to demand platforms oriented towards Observability.

On the one hand, these platforms should support the collection of a continuous stream of low-level granular data, the interpretation and analysis of those streams by AI/ML algorithms, and the enabling of increasingly automated incident remediating interventions. On the other hand, the entire automated signal-to-response workflow such as platforms support needs to be embedded into an industrial-strength DevOps CI/CD pipeline.

Long-established players are racing to evolve their current portfolios to better meet Observability requirements. At the same time, the VC world, despite the pandemic-induced economic contraction, continues to pour money into speculative Observability technologies targeted at both IT Ops and DevOps practitioners.

Join this episode of ZipChat, where we talk to Will Cappelli, DevOps Specialist at Splunk to discuss:

  • what enterprises are actually looking for in DevOps Observability
  • how vendors both legacy and start-ups are trying to meet those requirements

So join us from your peloton or grab some popcorn on the couch for this interactive ZipChat session. Submit your questions during registration for our experts to address. It’s an open mic, so come with your questions for our subject matter experts!
