Context Driven Agile Leadership - Webinar

November 10, 2010

Too often people in the software industry propose the magic bullet “one size fits all” approach to leading and managing projects. As any experienced leader knows, each project has its unique characteristics and it is the context of these characteristics that must influence how best to lead and manage the project and the teams. The Context Leadership Model that Todd has written about in several IEEE papers and in his book “Stand Back and Deliver,” looks at uncertainty and complexity and has found that these two attributes of a project provide guidance to effective leadership, risk management and overall governance.

Complexity includes project composition such as team size and criticality, while uncertainty includes both market and technical uncertainty. The approach and leadership style required for a simple, stable project is quite different than what is required for highly uncertain, highly complex projects. In this webinar Todd will introduce the model and then demonstrate a number of examples of how the leadership styles differed based on the project context.
