The Client

Studer Group is a global advisory firm that works with healthcare organizations to create success paths for their future. Founded in 1999, it helps healthcare organizations in the United States, Canada, and Australia, achieve and sustain exceptional improvement in clinical outcomes and financial results.

Studer Group and Huron work side-by-side to establish, accelerate, and hardwire the necessary changes through a sequenced approach. This leads to better transparency, higher accountability, and the ability to target and execute specific, objective results that organizations want to achieve.

A provider of performance management systems for the Healthcare industry, Studer has worked with more than 800 hospitals, health systems, medical practices, and end-of-life organizations to achieve and sustain operational, clinical and financial results.

The Challenge

Studer reached out to Synerzip for technology consulting and for help in expanding their product line.

Studer has multiple products such as the Dashboard Portal, Patient Call Manager, Leader Evaluation Manager, Provider Feedback System, and the Monthly Meeting Module. Additionally, their legacy products in their portfolio that did not leverage new technology benefits such as improved performance with lower resources. These products led to higher maintenance costs. Studer also needed analytics from its solutions to better understand how its users are using their products.

Studer needed a partner who would work with minimal handover and hand-holding.

The Solution

The Synerzip team conducted a full evaluation of the existing systems in place and the new ones under development by Studer.

The team redesigned the entire multi-tenant product architecture to better help the client. Products developed included,

  • Dashboard portal that helps administrators manage employee access, and generate reports on various functions.
  • Patient Call Manager (PCM) that helps hospitals call and check on patients post their discharge. PCM helps them better manage their admissions and also provide anticipatory care when patients may need re-admission.
  • Leader Evaluation Module (LEM) that automates goal setting and performance review of all leaders and ensures that they align with the organization goals.

Apart from these, Synerzip also helped Studer develop tools that collect feedback, schedule meetings, manage doctor and staff processes that adhere to set standards.

Performance data is also gathered and compared to these applications. With every release, statistics are gathered and compared with previous releases to determine if tuning is needed for the applications to perform optimally.

The team has also been building a data warehouse on the top of the product database. They also build multi-dimensional cubes to add time dimension over the scores and goals of the leader.

The Outcome

Along with accelerated development of products, Synerzip also helped the client manage growing data and phase out legacy technology. This data management helps Studer improve access time, resolve workflow, and database locking issues.

Using analytics provided by  Google Analytics and SASS, the team has been able to build actionable business intelligence for the client. Performance testing also helps them understand areas of improvement in performance. This analysis enables the Studer Group to provide a higher level of user experience to its clients.
